One Year Lease has created a community
of American and international artists who work together
on productions performed both in the United States and
abroad. These artists are known as the Tenants
of One Year Lease. We are also committed to offering
these Tenants other production outlets in New York. Brendan
Cowell’s Bed, staged in April and May 2007
was the inaugural production of the Tenants of One Year
Lease.
This dark comedy explored the best and the very worst
of relationships and posed the question: What’s
the worst thing you’ve ever done? With Bed,
we provided an opportunity for our artists-in-residence
to explore work outside OYL’s traditional mission
and we look forward building more shows for and with the
Tenants of One Year Lease.
