One Year Lease created Phaedra x
3 over the course of a month long residency in northern
Greece in July 2005. The month was spent rehearsing and
performing three different translations and adaptations
of "Phaedra" in the villages of Papingo and
Monodendri.
The three plays featured in this project were Racine’s
Phèdre, Matthew Maguire’s Phaedra,
and Sarah Kane’s Phaedra’s Love.
The repertory cast of six actors that rehearsed in Greece
performed all three texts in Novemer/December 2005 in
NYC at the Studio at Cherry Lane Theatre.
